Lilian is 31 years old. She lives with her husband and has three children, who are 12, 8, and 6 years old. All three study at a school in the same neighborhood where they live because it is too difficult to get to the city center of Encarnación, since both Lilian and her husband have to work.

They have lived in their own house for many years. They acquired it through much sacrifice, since they had to double their efforts and go through some very difficult times in order to get together enough money to buy it so that they could give their children an improved life. Lilian owns a very well stocked small grocery store in the house, which allows her to be at home and take care of her family.

Lilian’s husband is a street vendor that sells a variety of merchandise in the neighborhoods of Encarnación. In this way they both contribute their income to their household and expenses.

Lilian sells different types of basic goods merchandise in her store. In general, small grocery stores like this are the most frequented for daily purchases in the country. Despite the fact that there are municipal markets and supermarket chains, the small grocery stores continue to be the most convenient and inexpensive option.

Lilian is requesting a loan today with which she will augment her stock of merchandise and buy a greater variety of products so as to satisfy the demands of her customers.
