We are excited to watch this business grow. Over the next 6 months, Esperanza International will be collecting repayments from this entrepreneur and posting progress updates on the Kiva website.

Josefina’s business is going very well. She is now not only selling sheets and curtains but has also expanded to sell clothes. Josefina is very responsible and trustworthy; she has not defaulted on her payments and has done them all on time. Josefina is enrolled in a savings plan where she voluntarily saves 73 Dominican pesos every two weeks (an equivalent of $2 US dollars). Josefina also has medical insurance for herself and her children. This is proving Josefina and her family with a cushion, in the case of a medical or financial emergency they will not be pushed of into extreme poverty.
