Mr. Kodjo N’TSOU is a dedicated young man. He is married and the father of four children. He was forced to end his studies in secondary school when he ran out of money. He completed a computer training course however, and thanks to his own efforts, has managed to purchase a used computer which allowed him to open a small word processing and computing shop. His good sense of work well done leads to high customer satisfaction among those who come to the shop. Currently he’s very much in demand but has only a single computer that no longer even works properly. He would like to equip his shop with more effective technology in order to meet demand. To do this, he is seeking an $850 loan to buy modern computers for more efficient data analysis. Mr. N’TSOU will then be able to earn enough money to take care of his family and to lead a more fulfilling professional life.

The new computer is up and running!

Entrepreneur: Kodjo N’tsou
Location: Afagnan, Togo

Mr. N’TSOU received his $850 loan in February. With this loan he was able to buy a computer and folders and to repair his photocopier. Mr. N’TSOU’s previous computer was very old and in terrible working condition, which made it very difficult for him do his word processing and computing work.

Mr. N’TSOU joined Microfund Togo in 2006 as one of their first members in the Afagnan area. Before having joined, he found it very difficult to work with his broken machine. He is now able to make a decent income to support his family. He earns about $20 a week and is able to put aside $10 a week apart from his repayments. He also has one student that helps in his shop.

Mr. N’TSOU and his wife and 4 children currently live in the home of their extended family. The two eldest children are in school, and the two youngest will be when they are old enough. He is now able to properly vaccinate his children and their meals are improved fro before. His wife also adds income to their household from her work as a tailor.

For his next loan, Mr. N’TSOU would like to receive $2,000 to improve the look of his shop, to purchase more computers and other instruments and to buy power generator so that his shop will still run when there are power outages (which occurs often). His dream is to one day build a home for his own family.
