In the city of el Alto, in the zone Ballivian is found the Pro-Mujer center called "Alto Lima". Inside this center we find the "Persistent Women" association. Under this name, 16 associates form a very united and organized group. Only nine of them have completed their studies. The remainder sadly have only learned to read and to write in a very basic way. It is a great dream to be able to go to the adult school to complete their studies, that for the time being and for lack of resources they cannot do.

The majority of them dedicate themselves chiefly to the sale of clothes, design of hats, and making of henhouses and blankets, products that they offer in the main open air markets of the City of el Alto. Besides needing greater resources for the purchase of special machinery, they require capital for the purchase of materials, with the objective of enlarging their production and thus obtaining greater profits. With this they hope to be able to complete their studies and to support their families in a better way of life.
