Vesna Ćebić

Thank you for your loan. It has been disbursed to Vesna Ćebić by Zene za Zene International in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are excited to watch this business grow. Vesna is a 34 year old woman living in the village of Pojezna. She met with us last week when we stopped by her home to discuss how business had been going since receiving her Kiva loan.

Like most people in Bosnian villages, Vesna and her family survive primarily through their farming business. They have a bunch of animals on their farm—2 cows, a horse, a pig, also some turkeys. They can make a steady income selling milk, as every week a big tanker from the local factory comes by to collect milk from dairy farmers in their village. While intially she requested the loan to buy seeds, Vesna thought a better investment would be to buy another cow right away. She used her loan from Kiva plus some savings she had to buy it. It was a pregnant cow, which gave birth a few months back. They were able to sell the calf and kept the mother cow so they can produce & sell more milk.

This is Vesna’s first loan with Zene za Zene. She admits that money is tight for them, and it doesn’t feel great to always be short. While she may take another loan in the future, she will see how it goes paying this one off. Vesna is married with 2 children. Her daughter, pictured below, is entering 4th grade, and her son will start school next year. It was a pleasure meeting them, and thank you to lenders for your support of her business.
