My name is Sarwer Bashir. I am married and a mother of six: five boys and one girl. All attend school except for my daughter, who is not yet of school age. I embed sequins on shawls ordered from various traders, and my husband is a rickshaw driver. To supplement our household income, we also have a floor grinding machine which we rent out. We now plan to buy an additional grinding machine that will enable us to save for our children’s higher education, but we require a loan to make this purchase.

The other women who have joined me in my loan group are: Rehana Bibin, whose family has an iron business; Ayesha Bibi, who will use her share of the loan to pay off the remaining installments of her family’s rickshaw, and Saira Bibi, who is borrowing for her window glass sales.

I would like to update you on the loan helped fund to Sarwer bashir. With the loan she received helped buying additional grinding machine for increasing income. The earnings from the grinding machines allow them to cover the household expenses. The earnings from their own businesses allow them to save for their kids future so that they get as much education as they want. They are happy to mention that they enrolled their younger daughter in a school and she is getting an education. They religiously paid back their loan on time and maintain a good record.
