The Communal Bank Paycasa is a bank that was established approximately 7 years ago. At the present time it has 15 cycles and 21 members. The members of the communal bank are from the Pacaycasa district , which is located 30 minutes away from the city of Ayacucho. The members of the bank note that thanks to this institution they have learned to save, to be responsible and punctual.

The members have different businesses such as the sale of sweets, groceries, fruits, cereals, purchase and sale of cochinilla (an insect used to make natural pigments), tara (a Peruvian native plant used to make leather tanning powder), tuna (the fruit of a cactus plant), brick manufacturing, sale of food, raising animals and agriculture.

Each member has a different story as is the case of Otilia, who is a longstanding member of her communal bank and sells sweets at the school's gate and prepared food on Sundays. Justina, on the other hand, has a small grocery store. She started by selling sweets on the streets and little by little started setting up her store.

The members need different loan amounts. Some are for 300 soles, 600 soles, 900 soles for a total amount of 11,700 soles in loans for the communal bank. The loans will be used to purchase noodles, rice, cooking oil, milk, eggs, potatoes, tuna, tara, cochinilla, apples, oranges, bananas, cookies, candy, chocolates, sand and to pay the laborers.

The savings would be used to buy homes, grow their business capital and for their children's education. The dreams of the members are that their children become professionals, that the member's daughter that is ill gets better, to expand their businesses and to be able to purchase a car.
