Graciela Guerra Laurel

Graciela Guerra Laurel runs a general store in a rural suburb near the city of Pucallpa, Ucayali. Graciela sells candy, fruits, vegetables, and sodas. She runs her shop in the afternoon and in the morning teaches at a primary school.

Graciela is 32 years old with two children and is happily married. She is happy with her little store because she now has a better relationship with her neighbors, an increased income, and, in turn, greater independence.

A member of the community bank Las Lumbreras, Graciela is requesting a loan of s/1500 to repay over 6 months. She will use the loan to restock her shop with sodas, candy, and snacks. Graciela owns a chicken coop and in the future is considering raising chickens to sell at the local market.
