Lake J A Group

The group leader of this small group is Betty Mutagaya. She is currently in the business of poultry rearing and is requesting a loan to improve her poultry house and purchase more poultry. Betty is 48 years old and is married. She has 4 children ranging from ages 18 to 28 and her children go to school. Each week, Betty makes approximately UGX 200000 in profits and with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to purchase poultry feed. Betty has taken a loan from BRAC Uganda before in the amount of UGX 400000 in order to add to her poultry business and the loan was paid back on time.

Betty is joined in her small group by Harriet Namugabo and Kevin Nakato. Harriet Namugabo has a business selling used clothes and wants to change his business to sell new clothes. Kevin Nakato is currently operating a restaurant business and wants a loan to purchase a fridge.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
