Wanyange Lake K D Group

The group leader of this small group is Miriam Nalongo. She is currently in the business of selling raw food and is requesting a loan to purchase a bicycle to transport the food from the villages to her stall. Miriam is 31 years old and is married with a husband who is an egg supplier for work. She has 6 children ranging from ages 4 to 16 and her children go to school. Each week, Miriam makes approximately UGX 45000 in profits and with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to pay the school fees for her children. Miriam has taken a loan from BRAC Uganda before in the amount of UGX 350000 in order to buy more raw food and the loan was paid back on time.

Miriam is joined in her small group by Ester Namulawa, Robina Takuwa and Muselina Mukinaku. Ester Namulawa has a business selling raw food and wants to rent bigger business premises. Robina Takuwa is currently operating a grocery store business and wants a loan to purchase more groceries. Muselina Mukinaku operates a charcoal and scrap selling business and wants to buy more scrap to sell.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee. Under this arrangement, each member of the group supports one another and is responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults. Learn more
