Budumuli East C A Group

The group leader of this small group is Sarah Nalongo. She is currently in the business of selling charcoal and is requesting a loan to stock more charcoal. Sarah is 30 years old and is married. She has 4 children ranging from age 5 to 12 and her children go to school. Each week, Sarah makes approximately UGX 70000 in profits and with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to purchase more charcoal. Sarah has taken a loan from BRAC Uganda before in the amount of UGX 100000 in order to invest in her business and the loan was paid back on time.

Sarah is joined in her small group by Fauza Babirye, Juliet Naigaga and Safina Kagoyesa. Fauza Babirye has a business in used clothing sales and wants to expand business. Juliet Naigaga is currently operating a business in tailoring and wants a loan to buy more cloth fabric. Safina Kagoyesa operates a salon business and wants to add more equipment.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
