For 9 years, Raida has been a member of the community bank nameded "Llapanchik”, which means “Everyone” in Peru’s native language of Quechua. Here, she learned how to save money, be punctual and responsible, and the importance of friendship and community.

Raida is a 40 year old, separated mother of 2 boys. She sells groceries, meat and vegetables. She started her business with very little capital and since then it has been slowly prospering.

Raida is asking for a loan of 2000 soles (3 soles = 1 US dollar) with which she will buy sugar, rice, noodles, milk, soda, cookies, soap and detergent.

She will use her savings to pay for her children’s education. She was able to build a house and buy her sons a computer with the money she learned how to save at the Community Bank. Raida hopes that her sons will grow up to be good people and one day become professionals. She also wants to buy a car so her son can work.
