Rosita (pictured far right) is a vibrant 33-year-old who lives with her husband and three children in a suburb called Los Alcarrizzos, which is about a 30-minute drive from the capital of Santo Domingo. She has a small cafeteria called “Cafeteria Rosita” that specializes in making lollipops. Rosita is asking for this loan so that she can expand the products she is able to offer her clients. Specifically, she wants to offer more fried foods like empanadas, tostones, and fried chicken.

Her dreams are to continue expanding her business, and to work so that her children can continue to study.

Group Progress Update Entrepreneur: Petalo De Rosa. Group 2 Location: Los Alcarrizos, Dominican Republic We have learned from this group's loan officer that the borrowers of this Kiva loan have successfully completed all their loan payments. After this one, they took a second loan with Esperanza International (not funded through Kiva) which they are currently repaying. In some moments of their loan cycle, these entrepreneurs had to exercise the solidarity that is asked of them at the time of taking a group loan, since some borrowers were late in a couple payments. Later on, they cleared accounts among them and the loan was fully repaid without debt inside the group. Thank you for supporting this Kiva loan!
