Kabumbi B (ii) Group

The group leader of this small group is Rukiya Namubiru. She is currently in the business of running a retail shop and is requesting a loan to restock her shop. Rukiya is 28 years old and married. Her husband is a business man. She has 1 child aged 2. Each week, Rukiya makes approximately UGX 87000 in profits and with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to purchase a durable counter with a strong drawer. Rukiya has taken a loan from BRAC Uganda before in the amount of UGX 500000 in order to buy requirements for her business and the loan was paid back on time. Rukiya is joined in her small group by Robinah Nabukalu, Kirabo Oliva, Florence Serunyigo, and Hajara Sanyu. Robinah Nabukalu has a business running a retail shop and wants to increase the inventory. Kirabo Oliva is currently operating a retail shop business and wants a loan to add capital. Florence Serunyigo operates a retail shop business and wants to boost business. Hajara Sanyu is currently in the business of selling cold drinks and is requesting a loan to purchase a fridge.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
