Nsumbi A Group

The group leader of this small group is Shamim Birabwa. She is currently in the business of poultry farming and is requesting a loan to buy more chicks. Shamim is 36 years old and is divorced. She has 2 children ranging from age 4 to 6 and her children go to school. Each week, Shamim makes approximately UGX 90000 in profits and with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to pay the school fees for her children Shamim has taken a loan from BRAC Uganda before in the amount of UGX 300000 in order to buy chicken mash (feed) and chicken drinkers and the loan was paid back on time.

Shamim is joined in her small group by Joseline Kabasinguzi, Robinah Nawaguma, Annet Nabisere, and Harriet Namatovu. Joseline Kabasinguzi has a nursery school business and wants to buy stationery. Robinah Nawaguma is currently operating a restaurant business and wants a loan to purchase more utensils. Annet Nabisere operates a shoe sales business and wants to increase the volume of shoes. Harriet Namatovu is currently in the business of selling cold drinks and is requesting a loan to purchase another fridge.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
