Kibuuka Group

The group leader of this small group is Getrude Nakamya. She is currently in the business of selling milk and is requesting a loan to purchase a freezer. Getrude is 31 years old and is married. Her husband is a casual laborer. She has 1 child aged 2. Each week, Getrude makes approximately UGX 40000 in profits and with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to add it to her business. Getrude has taken a loan from BRAC Uganda before in the amount of UGX 300000 in order to buy extension cables, bulbs and sockets and the loan was paid back on time.

Getrude is joined in her small group by Judith Namagembe, Sauba Nabanja, Pauline Kisembo, and Lydia Nakafeero. Judith Namagembe has a business selling electrical gadgets and wants to increase stock. Sauba Nabanja is currently operating a business selling foodstuff and wants a loan to add more stock. Pauline Kisembo operates a retail shop business and wants to purchase more shop items. Lydia Nakafeero is currently in the market vendor business and is requesting a loan to add to her business.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
