Genoveva Vasquez Ruiz

Genoveva Vasquez Ruiz owns her own business working as a seamstress in the city of Morales, San Martin. She started the business from her living room in 2000 because she had a useful skill, wanted to take charge of her life, and did not want to rely on her husband. Now she makes and sells custom bedspreads, blankets, and covers to her neighbors, friends, and family.

Genoveva is 34 years old, married and has three children. She is happy that she can work from home so that she can also take care of her children. Genoveva is proud to be a productive member of her community and a positive role model for her children. Her goal is to save enough money to send all of her children to university so they can have more opportunities in life than she had.

A member of Manuela Ramos and the community bank Las Moralinas, Genoveva is requesting a loan of $525 to repay over 6 months. With the loan she would like to buy a selection of new fabrics and threads so she can offer her clients different, creative products.
