Elizabeth is 25 years old and has two children, ages four and six. She lives in Kwesipa where she sells a variety of goods including eggs, oranges, and baby products. She has been in this business for three years now and she loves it. With her first loan from CRAN, she purchased additional inventory. Without the loan, she would not have been able to expand her business. After taking out the loan, Elizabeth saw her profits increase from 10 cedis ($10) per month to 20-25 cedis per month. She puts some of her income towards rent and saves the rest for the purpose of reinvesting in her business.

Elizabeth believes that the loan had a number of positive effects on her life aside from helping her expand the business. The increased profit reduced the financial pressure in her household. In addition, the loan gave her an accomplishment to feel proud of and gave her more control over her income.
