Loan Update

Entrepreneur: Nhem Sok
Location: Kampong Cham, Cambodia

Nhem Sok Khem, 27, lives with her husband and her children in Kampong Cham, Cambodia. Nhem is a housewife, and her husband is a security guard. Nhem requested this loan so she could rent some farmland to grow vegetables.

A CREDIT MFI loan officer recently visited Nhem to check on her progress. After receiving her loan, Nhem rented some farmland and expanded her planting. She said that her crops are in good health, and that she has already started to earn more money than before.

Nhem said that she spends most of her extra income on educating the children. School fees typically cost around $0.25 to $0.50 per day per child, and her children sometimes want a little money to buy snacks. Nhem said that she wants to further expand her farm in the future, and someday hopes to own her own plots of land.

When asked, Nhem said she was thankful to CREDIT for its good service, and to Kiva lenders for supporting her loan.
