Koser Saeed's Group

My name is Koser Saeed. I am from the mid-sized city of Faisalabad, Pakistan, and I am married with two children: one girl and one boy. My son is in the first grade and my daughter is in kindergarten. My husband has been selling cloth for the past 6 years, whereas I stitch clothes for my neighborhood's women. My husband now wants to buy cloth in bulk. If his income increases I will save the extra profits for my children's future. I would borrow in a loan group of four other women. Asma Shahzad wants to start a stitching training institute for the girls of our community. Khalida Rasheed wants to buy a wood cutter for her family's lumberyard. Naila Ashraf will start a grocery store with her share of the loan. Haleema Sadia will buy wood for her family’s furniture business.

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee. Under this arrangement, each member of the group supports one another and is responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults. Learn more
