Francisca has been an associate of the “Chontaca” community bank for one year. She mentioned that the bank organizer has taught her how to invest her money, how to manage her business, and how to care for her children.

Francisca sells motor oil and gasoline from her home. She started this business because her husband is a mechanic, and she noticed that there was a demand for these items. She started the business and, since joining the community bank, has been able to expand her selection. Francisca also grows vegetables and raises animals that she later sells to middle men that visit her village.

Francisca needs a loan of 3000 soles (3 soles = $1), which she will invest in buying motor oil and gasoline.

One of the most important aspects of the community bank is the interest-earning savings account each associate has. Francisca plans to use her savings in the case of an emergency and to pay for her children’s education. Her dream is that her children receive a good education, that her business continues to grow, and to open a mechanic shop with modern machinery.
