Osimjon's Loan Entrepreneur: Osimjon Mallaev Location: Khujand, Tajikistan Today I visited 29 year old Osimjon at his rented storefront in a busy section of Khujand. His shop was neatly kept and had a wide variety of Turkish rugs and food items. Business has been good and he is able to support his 3 children. His youngest is now 10 months old. Prior to starting his business, Osimjon worked on a government farm but was unable to earn a salary sufficient to support his growing family. His Kiva loan allowed him to grow his business and sustain it during slow months.
