Namayira Centre C Group

The group leader of this small group is Mariam Kisawe. She is currently in the business of running a hotel and is requesting a loan to expand business. Mariam is 40 years old and is married. She has 6 children ranging from age 7 to 22 and her children go to school. Each week, Mariam makes approximately UGX 140000 in profits and with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to meet basic needs. Mariam has taken a loan from BRAC Uganda before in the amount of UGX 200000 in order to increase stock and the loan was paid back on time.

Mariam is joined in her small group by Nakato Nabuwala, Jesca Fateme and Ruth Nambi. Nakato Nabuwala has a business selling used clothes and wants to increase stock. Jesca Fateme is currently operating a business running a bar and wants a loan to purchase a fridge. Ruth Nambi operates a business of selling matooke and wants to expand business.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
