Each week, Aisha makes approximately 350000 UGX (about $205) profit. With the extra profit gained from increasing the clothing sales, she hopes to be able to pay school fees for the children. Aisha has had a loan for 100000 UGX (about $60) from BRAC Uganda in the past in order to invest in her business, and the loan was paid back on time.

Aisha is joined in her small group by Habiba Namatende, Zawija Biriabwa, Rose Kawuma, Lukia Namatende, and Harriet Nambi. Habiba Namatende has a talioring business and wants to set up a shop selling clothes. Zawija Biriabwa has a butcher shop and sells the meat, and wants a loan to buy more animals for slaughtering. Rose Kawuma has a retail shop and wants to increase the stock. Lukia Namatende currently has a tailoring business and is requesting a loan to buy more sewing machines. Harriet Nambi sells charcoal and intends to purchase more sacks of charcoal from villages.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
