Kavule D Group

The leader of this small group is Aisha Namukaya. She is currently in the business of charcoal sales and is requesting a loan to purchase more charcoal to sell. Aisha is 33 years old and divorced. She has 3 children ranging in age from 11 to 15 and her children go to school. Each week, Aisha makes approximately UGX 50000 (~ $29 USD) in profits and, with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to buy a piece of land.

Aisha has taken a loan from BRAC Uganda before, in the amount of UGX 200000 (~ $116 USD) to invest in her business and she paid the loan back on time.

Aisha is joined in her small group by Allen Nakakembo, Harriet Namubiru, Nazita Nassuna, and Sauda Nankabirwa. Allen Nakakembo sells cold drinks and wants to buy a refrigerator with the loan. Harriet Namubiru sells charcoal and wants a loan to add to her business. Nazita Nassuna operates a canteen and wants to increase her stock of goods. Sauda Nankabirwa is in the catering business of catering and is requesting a loan to buy more food and kitchen utensils.

About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
