Kireka A2 (vi) Group

The leader of this small group is Rehema Namuyomba. She has a canteen business and is requesting a loan to add more stock. Rehema is 36 years old and is married. She has 3 children ranging in age from 9 to 13, and her children go to school. Each week, Rehema makes approximately UGX 30000 (~ $18 USD) in profits and, with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to save for her children’s' education.

Rehema has taken a loan from BRAC Uganda before, in the amount of UGX 200000 (~ $116 USD), to invest in her business, and she paid the loan back on time.

Rehema is joined in her small group by Jalia Namala, Suzan Nanono, Florence Namatovu, and Tatu Nantongo. Jalia Namala has a business selling raw food and wants to expand her food business. Suzan Nanono sells matooke (plantain bananas) and wants a loan to expand her business. Florence Namatovu operates a retail shop and wants to buy more items for her shop. Tatu Nantongo sells arts and crafts and is requesting a loan to add to her craft business.

About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
