Tiira Road H Group

The leader of this small group is Grace Nambuya. She is currently in the business of fish selling and is requesting a loan to expand her fish business. Grace is 33 years old and is married. Her husband is an engineer. She has 5 children ranging from ages 6 to 14, and her children go to school. Each week, Grace makes approximately UGX 50000 (~ $30 USD) in profits and with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to pay school fees for her children.

Grace has taken a loan from BRAC Uganda before, in the amount of UGX 200000 (~ $116 USD) to invest in her business and she paid the loan back on time.

Grace is joined in her small group by Hajara Nafuwa and Jane Nakanyeze. Hajara Nafuwa has a business selling charcoal and wants to add to her charcoal business with the loan. Jane Nakanyeze also sells charcoal and wants a loan to purchase more sacks of charcoal to sell.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
