Nangwe Madibira (v) Group

The leader of this small group is Hellen Barasa. She is currently in the business of selling maize flour and is requesting a loan to purchase additional flour for the business. Hellen is 36 years old and married. Her husband is a businessman. She has 5 children ranging in age from 2 to 18, and all go to school. Each week, Hellen makes approximately UGX 40000 in profits and with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to pay school fees for the children. Hellen previously received a loan from BRAC Uganda in the amount of UGX 400000 in order to invest in her business, and the loan was paid back on time.

Hellen is joined in her small group by Faima Mutesi, Sarah Ngolwope and Hindu Biira . Faima Mutesi has a business selling new clothes and wants to increase her stock. Sarah Ngolwope is currently operating a business in clothing sales and wants a loan to expand the business. Hindu Biira sells clothes and wants to purchase more clothes for sale.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
