Ntebetebe B Group

The group leader of this small group is Janat Kayimbye. She sells charcoal and is requesting a loan of UGX 800,000 to construct a shade for the charcoal. Janat is 48 years old and married. Her husband is a driver. She has 7 children ranging from age 15 to 28 and her children go to school. Each week, Janat makes approximately UGX 80,000 in profits and with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to re-invest in her business. Janat has taken a loan from BRAC Uganda before in the amount of UGX 600,000 in order to invest in a retail store and the loan was paid back on time.

Janat is joined in her small group by Rose Walusimbi, Zainah Nassuna, Janet Nakibuuka, and Dianah Kalinyewa. Rose Walusimbi cooks and sells food in a canteen and is requesting a loan of UGX 500,000 to increase the canteen's stock. Zainah Nassuna is currently in the business of selling matooke (plantain) and is requesting a loan of UGX 400,000 to expand business. Janet Nakibuuka also cooks and sells food in a canteen and is requesting a loan of UGX 500,000 to buy a fridge. Dianah Kalinyewa is currently in the business of brick laying and is requesting a loan of UGX 400,000 to invest in the bricklaying business.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
