Kireka A3(v) Group

The group leader of this small group is Josephine Nakinobe. She runs a small retail store and is requesting a loan of UGX 1,000,000 to increase her store's stock. Josephine is 31 years old and married. Her husband is a cleaner. She has 3 children ranging in age from 2.5 to 4 and her children go to school. Each week, Josephine makes approximately UGX 70,000 in profits and with the extra profits from her loan, she hopes to be able to re-invest in her business. Josephine has taken a previous loan of UGX 600,000 from BRAC Uganda to invest in her business, and paid back the loan on time.

Josephine is joined in her small group by Sarah Ndagire, Teopista Nakibuuka, Madrine Babirye, and Nulu Nansikombi. Sarah Ndagire runs a salon and is requesting a loan of UGX 500,000 to buy more weaves and hair fibres. Teopista Nakibuuka runs a canteen and is requesting a loan of UGX 400,000 to add to her stock. Madrine Babirye is currently in the business of matooke (plantain) selling and is requesting a loan of UGX 400,000 to purchase more matooke from villages. Nulu Nansikombi runs a retail shop and is requesting a loan of UGX 500,000 to buy another fridge.



About Group Loans
In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a group of individuals bound by a group guarantee.
