Mak Sok

Thank you for your loan. It has been disbursed to Mak Sok by CREDIT MFI -- World Relief in Cambodia. We are excited to watch this business grow. Mak Sok, 60, lives with her husband and four children in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Mak is a tailor, and her husband is a chef. They make $4 and $5 per day, respectively. Mak took out a loan to purchase a sewing machine and fabrics.

A CREDIT MFI loan officer recently visited Mak to check on her progress. After receiving her loan, Mak purchased two motorbikes and a sewing machine for her children. They use the motorbikes to get to work, and the sewing machine to help their mother at home. She also purchased fabrics so she can make more clothes.

Mak said her standard of living has improved since she began borrowing from CREDIT; she has been able to add another floor to her home and build more rooms. She faces some difficulties, such as the rising price of food.

In the future, Mak would like a house close to the road so she can sell food to people walking by.

When asked, Mak said she was thankful to CREDIT for its good service, and to Kiva lenders for supporting her loan.
