Ajida Bengir

Thank you for your loan. It has been disbursed to Ajida Bengir by MCO Women for Women International in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are excited to watch this business grow. Over the next 12 months, MCO Women for Women International will be collecting repayments from this entrepreneur and posting progress updates on the Kiva website.

We are happy to share an update on Ajida’s coffee shop. Her loan officer visited her last week, and gave us a great update on her progress. As you know, Ajida is a 41 year old woman. She is married, with four children ages 6 to 16. She runs a coffee shop, and together with her husband’s income they are able to earn 1200 KM (approximately $970 USD) monthly. This is not enough to support a family of six, so Ajida decided to take a loan out to buy some inventory & equipment for her shop. She wanted to grow the amount of business they do and thereby increase her family’s monthly income. Ajida is so far very happy with her progress, and has been on time for all loan repayments. She spent most of her loan buying inventory to sell—including coffee and other drinks— rather than equipment. She already plans to take another loan out to eventually renovate her shop so it can serve even more customers. Here she is pictured at work below.
