Mrs. Gloria belongs to The New Eden Communal Bank, located in the district
of Yarina Cocha in the neighborhood of Ucayali. She is 52 years old and
the mother of four children. Three of her children are adults and one
still depends on her. She is a single mother. With her first loan of 300
Peruvian Soles from Manuela Ramos she decided to invest in a small store
and sell “Juanes” (pumpkin fritters) there.

Presently she has a little
store in her home and she sells basic items including pumpkin fritters.
She starts her day at 6 a.m. She goes to the market and buys the products
she needs to stock her store. Every afternoon and evening she spends time
making her pumpkin fritters. Then she rests so she can be ready for the
next day.

With the loan of 2,200 Peruvian Soles, which she plans to pay
back in 5 months, she will invest in products she needs to keep her
business going, like 1 sack of rice, 1 box of oil, ½ sack of Flour, 1 sack
of sugar, 1 package of noodles, 1 box of milk, 1 bag of detergent, etc.

Gloria is really happy because ever since she is working with Manuela
Ramos her sales have gone up, her income is also going up. Her family is
doing so well and that makes her extremely happy!
