I am Suriya Bibi. I am married and the mother of three girls and one boy. My husband is a daily wage laborer building houses. I make traditional hair bands known as prandas, and now, I require a loan to buy thread and beads to make these bands in larger quantities.

I'm also requesting loans for my other group members who are:

Saleema Bibi who also manufactures the same hair bands as I do;

Shahnaz Bibi whose husband has a tea stall;

Latifa Ismail who requests a loan for her husband’s beetel-nut shop; and

I would like to give you an update on the loan you helped fund to Suriya bibi for her hair bands making business. Suriya has seen great success in her traditional hair bands making business. She made the hair bands in large quantity and sells to the community and in the markets. She made directly linkages with the shop keepers and now gets good order from them and gets good profit. Her monthly income increased from 8,000 PKRs to 14,000 PKRs. She feels a great change in herself that she became more confident in her community. She is very grateful to each of you for your loan. She hopes that you will continue to support her fellow asasah associates on kiva.
