Sununa is married with 8 children and also cares for 10 orphans. For the past 13 years, Sununa has been the owner of the Sebbi Metal Workshop. With her Kiva loan, she plans to purchase another welding machine and buy more metal for her shop. Metal workshops are quite common along the roadways. As with most services, suppliers and manufacturers here, you will tend to find several of the same type of businesses one right next to the other.

Although fabricators, using welding machines can make most anything out of metal, the bread and butter of the business tends to be metal doors, gates, railings and windows. Their shops are blackened with the "soot” of their trade and the blinding sparks can be seen some distances along the roadways.

Journal Entrepreneur: Sununa Namuyanja Location: Naalya, Uganda Sununa is a leader and a teacher by birth. In her group of Naalya, she has been insrumental towards the success of her fellow members' businesses because she would always advise where some thing is amis and all of them are grateful for this. She also encourages them to pay on time without defaulting which is wonderful for her group and Pearl Microfinance limited as a whole. Her business is doing well amidst paying her children's school fees plus the orpans whose number has so far increased from 10 to 20 including shelter and feeding. She has resorted to working so hard together with her husband so that her extended family can continue having food on the table daily.
