Mifex and Luz Quezada would like to thank the lenders who have provided capital that gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to expand their businesses. This $500 loan is the first step to Luz's financial independence and growth in developing economies in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Mifex is run and operated by Stanford University graduates Jimmy Chavez and Robert Edgar and their local experts in Ecuador with work experience at the US Agency for International Development, the Ecuadorian Bank of Development, and Development Alternatives, Inc.

On April 1st, 2006 Novedades received its loan and will use it to increase inventory and buy a larger variety of products. Luz received her loan at her home -- where this single mother run her business. She was one of the first entrepreneurs to receive a loan from Mifex.

Dona Luz, es una mujer emprendedora agradece a Kiva por darle la oportunidad de surtir su negocio con mas artículos, el préstamo le permiten a que sus  ventas sean mayores por que cuenta con mas artículos, sus hijas que están en el colegio le ayudan en la atención diaria cuando Ella tiene que salir a realizar actividades de compra o a las de atención del Hogar. El mes de mayo se celebra el mes de las madres y sus ingresos fueron buenos que permitieron satisfacer los gastos de los estudios de sus hijos, el pago de matriculas en él colegio y la subsistencia de la familia, desea seguir laborando y para eso quiere que la sigan apoyando con financiamiento para mejorar sus ingresos y darle educación a sus hijos.
