Mambo (Greetings!) from Dar es salaam, Tanzania and from SELFINA! Thank you for your loan through Kiva to Tabu Masawila, a SELFINA client and micro-entrepreneur. The purpose of this journal is to update you on Tabu and the status of her business.

As you know, your generosity helped Tabu obtain a loan of $ 625 in December 2008. She is running a Beauty saloon business, and she used the loan to purchase steamer and electrical Stabilizer.

She works at her business every day. Since she took out the loan, her business has been doing well and Tabu monthly profits have increased from about $100 for approximately $200. She has used these extra profits for paying school fee, paying water and electricity bills and buying food for her family.

In the future, she is planning to request a loan of $1000 from SELFINA with which she plans to expand her business. On the personal front, her family is doing well. As you may remember, she is married and has five children. SELFINA aims to continue to assist Tabu and other women like her, and empower them towards financial security and increased confidence through micro loans. Thank you very much for supporting Tabu!
