Mrs. Sorn has run her own business, planting and selling vegetable since she was married. In November, 2007 she requested a loan of $1,200 to purchase fertilizer, pesticide and a covering net.

The productivity of vegetable was much higher than last year because she has enough fertilizer and pesticide as well as covering net to protect the vegetable from strong sunlight and heavy rain.

The price of vegetable is increased this year; so she is able to get high profit margin which she used to pay back the principal and interest, support the family especially children who are remaining at school as well as save for the future and emergency uses.

The family’s standard of living, on the other hand, is considered to be increase quicker than before she was funded from loan. At the end, Sorn decided to pay off the loan before schedule because she had enough money from the business. Sorn will ask for the loan again next time.
