Kiva Journal Update for Sok Soeun Entrepreneur: Sok Soeun Location: Prey Veng Province, Cambodia Mrs. Sok Soeun used her Kiva loan to purchase tools and equipment for a beauty salon for her daughter. Her daughter was able to apply the equipment to start a small salon in her community and now has a steady small business. She earns between $5-10/day, compared to $1/day before the loan. This additional income is reinvested in her business and goes towards her family’s food expenses as well. Occasionally she is faced with problems with her business, such as broken tools, but overall the operations are smooth enough that she would like to open a larger shop. She is happy with her loan, and would consider applying for another one in order to expand her new business.
