Mrs. Juana lives in the San Martin region of the Mariscal Caceres province in the Juanjui district. She belongs to the communal bank Las Trabajadoras (the working women). Her business is located in the No. 1 Market in the region and she works selling food. In addition, she has a small musical group called Corazon Selvatico (Jungle Heart) that works in the whole region making dance shows. Both businesses provide her with enough income to cover the household expenses and support her daughter in college.

The recent loan for $567.00 received from Manuela Ramos, which will be paid back in 4 months, will be invested in buying materials for producing and selling food in great quantities (a sack of rice, a sack of sugar, and 20lt. of oil), and also to invest in her musical group to buy some accessories such as more potent sounds system, microphones, and so on, because the competition is stronger every day and they have to offer a good service to get contracts.

Mrs. Juana is 73 years old and is a widow. She has 7 children, 5 of them independent and 2 still depending on her. She has one daughter in college whom she supports in the city of Lima in a private university, and her other son lives with her, works, and helps out with some expenses. Within her plans, she hopes to be able to have the capital that will allow her to live her old age without worries and to be able to rest.
