Babah rents a small hardware shop in Kabala town. He expanded his business with loans from SMT. His first loan was too small, thus Babah took loans from money lenders at higher interest rates to purchase more goods but only made a very small profit. He could not build his capital, as he was required to pay the installments on a weekly basis.

Babah Kalay built is own business capital Entrepreneur: Babah Kalay Jalloh Location: Kabala, Sierra Leone Babah Kalay is very grateful to kiva for the loan of $1200 that enabled him build his own capital. "I now feel the shop belongs to me said Baba". Before the loan, Babah used to take goods from supliers on credit and had to pay the loans on weekly basis. This could not give him change to generate more profit. Now with kiver loan, the monthly repayments is making it possible for him to re-invest the income and generate more profit. Babah is thankful to kiva brothers and sisters who assists him build his business and family life. "May Godbless them all said Babah".
