Journal Update

Entrepreneur: Lach Kung
Location: Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia

Lach Kung took out a loan of US$600 purchase wood and saws to make cutting boards. She purchased the materials that she needed and was also able to purchase a motorbike as well. She now typically earns US$4 in income each day and has not seen a large increase in profits, but has appreciated what the extra money has enabled her to do for her family and her business. For her family, she has been able to purchase more food and support her children's studies which cost $0.25 each day. Her business has been struggling mainly because there are too many compeititors, but she hopes it will improve in the future.

Lach Kung first heard about CREDIT from a promotion in her village and appreciated the low interest rate offered. She had previously borrowed from a private lender prior to joining CREDIT and had to pay an interest rate between 5-8% per month. This is compared to CREDIT's 2.5% interest rate per month. She had some difficulties repaying her loan on time each month, but the loan has been fully repaid by now.

In the future, Tuy Pov plans to continue improving her business, but is unsure whether she will take out another loan or not.

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity towards Lach Kung and her family. CREDIT has appreciated partnering with you to help this Cambodian entrepreneur and looks forward to building on this relationship in the future.
