Update on Thul Ban

Entrepreneur: Thul Ban
Location: Kean Svay District, Cambodia

Mrs. Thul and her husband is a farmer. She requested a loan of $500 in October, 2007 to purchase a motorbike for her son to run a business as a motor taxi driver.

Her son now serves a transportation service in the village. He transports people from the village to other places especially to Phnom Penh. Doing that, he can make money to share in supporting the family expenditure such as food, rice, electricity and water fee, clothes…etc.

However this son is saving one part of income for the future uses as well. The household’s economic is better now and Mrs. Thul already paid off the loan. She is going to borrow again in the near future.

We have made confusion in the first message saying that, “Thul will use the money to buy a motorbike for her husband” But, actually she buy a motor for her son who is standing with her in the photograph. So, we would like to apologize about that mistake.
