Journal for Teab Sina

Entrepreneur: Teab Sina
Location: Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia

Mrs. Teab Sina lives with her husband and family in Kampong Cham Province, northeast of the Capital Phnom Penh. She decided to take out a loan of $400 which was dispersed on October 3rd, 2007 to purchase a motorbike for her husband to operate a motor-taxi business. She is a vendor selling palm sugar at a busy market. With the loan she decided to purchase firewood in bulk to boil the palm juice collected into palm sugar instead. This enables her to take her product straight to market instead of selling the palm juice to someone else to process. She was previously making $3 per day, and her profits have increased to $5 simply by boiling the palm juice herself.

Mrs. Teab Sina heard about CREDIT through a promotion in her village and from a friend of hers who is an old client of CREDIT. She decided to take a loan from CREDIT because of the low interest rate and the quality of service. This is the first time she has taken out a loan, and has been very pleased with the friendly, quality services she has received from CREDIT.

Mrs. Teab Sina is satisfied with her increased profit margin. She would like to see her business continue to grow. She still experiences a lack of funds for wood, and despite this she was able to make her loan re-payments on time. She has completely repaid her loan, and currently is not considering another loan.

Thank you so much for helping support Mrs. Teab Sina and her family through your loan. CREDIT appreciates your financial and social investment. CREDIT looks forward to partnering with you again in the future enabling them to continually provide quality financial services to Cambodia’s small business entrepreneurs.
