MARY EDENARO is a Bini woman by tribe. She is very grateful for the assistance from kiva lenders. Mary has many financial demands as she puts her children through school. Her eldest child is 26 - years old and is a university graduate. Her last child is 18 - years old and just gained admission into the University of Benin where he is studying medicine. Mary hopes that her business will continue to move higher and higher so that she can see her son through medical school.

Mary is part of a group of five women who work collectively to bring tomatoes from Kano and Makurdi down to Benin city. They travel by public transport to purchase tomatoes from local farmers. Each basket of tomatoes is tied with a local rope. This serve as a symbol for each owner. All the tomatoes are than loaded into a lorry and delivered to a large open area in Ekiosa market in Benin City, where the women then separate their tomatoes and sell to local tomatoes vendors in the market. The cost of a lorry is too great for one individual. So these women pool their resources together. Mary goes every week to the north to purchase tomatoes. Mary plans on applying for another loan to help her business grow.
