Shafoat Oripova

This entrepreneur is successfully doing her business and repays her currently loan. She is very thankful for KIVA lenders and their loan helps her to increase her working capital. Her assets are increasing monthly and she wishes to have good profit from this summer season.

I caught up with Shafoat at the Chkalovsk Bazaar and she asked me to send a warm thank you to the Kiva lenders who funded her loan. As I browsed through her merchandise I asked her to point out her most popular item. Toilet paper, she said with a smile. Some things are universal necessities.

Shafoat mentioned her daughter is now finished with school and has been helping her with the business. She has 4 other younger children who are still in school. As a result of her Kiva loan she continues to be able to contribute support to her large family and has escaped the high unemployment in the Chkalovsk area. Back during the Soviet era there was a large factory here which has since closed and put much of the town's population out of work. Shafoat says "Rakhmat" (thank you) and hopes Kiva lenders will continue to fund businesses in Tajikistan.
