According to Fred, he will be able to employ a large number of casual employees, hence creating employment for some people in his community. He is requesting for a loan of $ 1,214 to start his project. Earnings from sale of bananas from their garden and milk from their cows will be used to repay the loan.

Because the approved total loan amount is greater than Kiva's maximum loan amount, SAO MFI will be providing the difference of $14. Thank you very much for your support.

Fred's Pine trees

Entrepreneur: Fred Kamoga
Location: Luwero Uganda, Uganda

Mr. Kamoga Fred is a farmer who borrowed money for the purpose of planting pine trees as a long term business.

He has managed to plant over one thousand trees in the last nine months since borrowing money Kiva.og through SAO MFI.

He has experienced some challenges of weather change, man power and limited finance for the long term business.

He used the money to buy pine tree seedlings, clearing the bush and cultivation of the land. He is engaged in the process of planting with his family and this is still going on following the rain season for watering.

Fred is employed with a tour and travel company in Kampala –Uganda. He uses his pay to repay the loan acquired from kiva –SAO MFI, however his nature of work is seasonal and this leads to off/on repayments.

He is sending his sincere greetings to Kiva lenders (thank you very much) who have helped him achieve his goal through SAO Microfinance.

The photo attached shows Fred’s family offloading pine trees.
