Teresa Quispe Vda. De Bautista lives in the Sajama area of the city of El Alto with her children and her 9 grandchildren.

She has been a Pro Mujer partner for 5 years. Teresa handcrafts sweaters from wool and then sells her products in the streets of the southern part of the city of La Paz.

With her first Pro Mujer loan, she was able to increase her inventory, which in turn later allowed her to acquire a sewing machine. The machine has allowed her to substantially increase her income. Currently Teresa is making both wool sweaters and baby's clothing (baby's sweaters/jackets). She needs capital to be able to buy raw materials with which to fulfill existing demand, and at the same time plans to expand the variety of products that she offers.

Translated from Spanish by Erin Corcoran, Kiva volunteer.

Teresa Quispe Vda.
