Early Repayment!

Entrepreneur: Yean Sarin
Location: Siem Reap Province, Cambodia

Dear Kiva Lender,

Great news! Yean Sarin has repaid the Kiva loan early! Kiva and CREDIT MFI make every effort to be as transparent as possible so you can trust the information we give you. In this case, we didn’t let you know that the loan had been repaid at the time. Occasionally, when a loan is repaid early, the payment schedule posted on Kiva doesn’t always match the records of our micro finance partner in Cambodia, CREDIT MFI. As in life, the system doesn’t always run perfectly, but when there is a discrepancy we will alert you as soon as possible so you have all the information about your investment.

On the upside, the issue occurred because the client’s business is so successful! Your loan made that possible. Soon you will see a repayment posted on the client’s profile that is larger than the usual amount. This will end the loan and return the funds to your account. We hope you will choose to loan the repaid funds to another entrepreneur who would a like a chance to grow their business as well.

If you have any questions, please post them as a comment on this borrowers site and I will be happy to respond. I also encourage you to write comments on the pages of your loan recipients so we can pass along your good wishes to the borrowers.

We sincerely apologize for the oversight and are putting policies in place to make sure that it doesn’t happen again. Thank you for giving poor entrepreneurs in Cambodia a chance at success!

Best regards,

Jordyan Edmiston, Kiva Fellow, Cambodia

Mr. Chan Mach, General Manager, CREDIT MFI, Cambodia

Journal Update

Entrepreneur: Yean Sarin
Location: Siem Reap Province, Cambodia

Yean Sarin took out a loan of US$600 to repair her family's home and has been very pleased with her investment. She has been able to fix the leaky roof and improve her living conditions with the money. She is very optimistic about the future for her family now and looks forward to opening up more opportunities for her child's education and her husband's employment.

Yean Sarin had never taken out a loan prior to borrowing from CREDIT, but she has especially appreciated the low interest rate and friendly service she has received. She has also appreciated the quality inclusive financial services that CREDIT has to offer. She had very few difficulties in repaying back the loan on time and had even taken out another loan after this one was repaid. She has purchased a motorbike for her family's transportation needs with the new loan and has saved her family money.

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity toward Yean Sarin and her family. CREDIT has greatly appreciated partnering with you to help provide capital to Cambodia's poor entrepreneurs and looks forward to building on this relationship in the future.
