Julia Narcisa Pinos Morocho

The San Pedro communal bank is located in the parish of Victoria del Portete, south of the city of Cuenca. The parish has this name in honor of the battle that occurred in its countryside. Its patron celebrations take place in October, celebrated with fireworks displays, dance competitions, and folklore music. The people are happy and always think about moving ahead personally and economically with their families.

Mrs. Julia Pinos lives in San Vicente de Arrayan, in the parish of Victoria del Portete. She is 39 years old, has been divorced for 12 years, because of her husband's lack of understanding, and is the mother of three children ages 11, 14, and 18. Her two oldest children work and help out with the household costs. Her youngest child studies in San Vicente elementary school. At the moment she does not have her own house: her and her family live with her parents.

Julia is a seamstress and sews embroideries, and has been in the business for 18 years. She has her own workshop in her house. She tells us that now everything is going very well. She has been working with this communal bank for two years and she has invested her loans in her business. With the new loan funds from FUNDACION ESPOIR she will buy a sewing machine and fabrics to make more embroideries and other sewn products.

Her goal is to keep expanding her business, which is the means of support of her family.

El banco comunal San Pedro está ubicado en la parroquia Victoria del Portete al sur de la ciudad de Cuenca, la parroquia lleva este nombre en honor a la batalla ocurrida en sus campos, sus fiestas patronales se celebran en el mes de Octubre donde se realizan diferentes actividades como la quema de castillos, juegos pirotécnicos, concursos de danza y música folklórica, su gente es alegre y siempre piensa en surgir personal y económicamente con sus familias.

La señora Julia Pinos vive en San Vicente de Arrayan en la parroquia Victoria del Portete, tiene 39 años de edad, es divorciada hace 12 años por la falta de comprensión con su esposo, es madre de tres hijos de 18, 14, 11 años, sus dos hijos mayores trabajan y le ayudan un poco económicamente con los gastos del hogar, su último hijo estudia en la escuela de San Vicente, de momento no tiene casa propia y viven en la casa de sus padres.

Julia es costurera y hace bordados, lleva 18 años trabajando en esta profesión, su taller es propio y lo tiene en su casa, nos comenta que hasta el momento le va muy bien, lleva dos años trabajando con su banco comunal y los créditos los ha invertido en su negocio, con el nuevo préstamo que la FUNDACION ESPOIR le entregue va a comprar una máquina de coser y telas para incrementar sus confecciones y bordados.

Su meta es seguir incrementado su negocio que es el sustento de su familia.
